Lamborghini has unveiled the new Aventador S, the successor to the Murcielago as the top of the range of the firm.
The Lamborghini Aventador S continues to sport an attractive silhouette in which the aesthetic touches are not too many, although there are slight changes to the front bumper to give it a more aggressive approach and, above all, achieve the great objective that has been pursued in this unit: increased aerodynamics.
According to the Italian manufacturer itself, thanks to this modification, air resistance has been improved by 130% on the front axle, and "more than 400% lower", the downward force being 50% higher in global terms. However, exact data on the drag coefficient has not been provided.
These advances are due to the maintenance of the monocoque chassis made of carbon fiber, a three-position adjustable rear spoiler, and prominent side air intakes. Their work is carried out in perfect harmony with the new upper air intakes, which guide the gaze to the rear, where the new diffuser and a central exhaust tail made up of three outlets that weigh 20% less than in its predecessor stand out. .
The new Aventador S has a 6.5-liter V12 engine that improves its performance by 40 hp, going from 700 to 740 hp, and achieving a torque for the entire regime of 690 Nm. Going from 0 to 100 km / h on board this marvelous model takes a matter of 2.9 seconds, and it can reach a top speed of 350 km / h. At the same time, a new element has been included that will accentuate its oversteer for a more comfortable driving: the rear axle steering.
Lamborghini also introduces four-wheel drive and offers four driving modes that allow you to play with power: STRADA, SPORT, CORSA and EGO. In each position, the response of the AWD control, engine, transmission, damping and steering changes.
In the technological section, it will have AppleCarPlay, a Start & Stop system to reduce its consumption and, optionally, a telemetry system to measure the skills of the driver on the circuit.
The price of the new Lamborghini Adventador S starts at 382,211 euros, 15,686 euros more than its predecessor.
